Mr. Adams Bio
In 1997 Mr. Adams completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree, with an emphasis in Music Education from Point Loma Nazarene University. In 2005, Mr. Adams received a Masters of Arts degree in Instrumental Conducting from Southern Oregon University.
During the 1997-98 school year Mr. Adams taught at Sunnyside Elementary School in Strathmore, CA. At Sunnyside Mr. Adams was responsible for all aspects of the music program. This included band, choir and elementary general music. His bands were met with high praise and laid the ground work for future success. Following his directorship at Sunnyside, Mr Adams was named Director of Music at Burton Middle School in 1998. While teaching at Burton Middle School his band was invited to perform in the 45th anniversary parade at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, CA. The Burton Middle school Jazz Band also achieved success earning numerous awards at festivals and contest. He served in this capacity until 2001.
Having been a 1992 graduate of Monache High School Mr. Adams dream was to be able to take the baton of one of his mentor’s Mr. Dale Anderson. In 2001 Mr. Adams dream became a reality as he was named Director of Bands at Monache High School. While at Monache, Mr. Adams has maintained the tradition of excellence and musicianship that had been a staple of the Marauder Band. His bands have earned numerous sweepstakes awards and superior ratings. His bands have participated in The Hollywood Christmas Parade, The Chick Fil A Peach Bowl Festival (Grand Champions), The Fiesta Bowl Parade and has recently performed for the San Francisco 49ers.
Professional Memberships include Music Educators National Conference, California Music Educators Association, California Band Directors Association and Tulare Kings County Music Educators Association (President 2001-2003). Mr. Adams currently publishes the TKMEA Honor Band Program and is the treasurer for California Music Educators Central Section. Mr. Adams has also been selected to Who’s Who Amongst American Teachers in 1999.
